The Los Angeles Trade-Technical College - Culinary Arts Pathway (CA) offers programs of study in Culinary Arts, Professional Baking, and Restaurant Management. Students will gain the competencies needed to build credentials for lifelong career success as they prepare to enter the Food Service Industry. LATTC is home to the oldest continually operating culinary school in the nation. Our programs host external accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). Graduates with an AA degree may apply for the first level of industry certification with the ACF.

Prepare for your culinary future! Our Culinary Arts program offers the training, practice and experience needed for your entry into a successful, creative culinary career. Opportunities for employment include hotels and restaurants, catering companies, college and university food-service, school lunch programs; corporate chefs and private chefs; other areas in the hospitality industry such as food sales, owner operators, consulting, journalism or food stylist.
Fundamentals of Baking Fundamentals of baking including dough, quick breads, pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, and doughnuts. Instruction in flours, fillings, and ingredients. Topics include baking terminology, tool and equipment use, formula conversions, functions of ingredients, and the evaluation of baked products.
The Culinary Institute of Charleston offers a wide array of credit and continuing education (noncredit) offerings to meet the diverse training needs of the industry. Credit programs include associate degree and certificate programs in culinary arts, baking and pastry, sports and nutrition, and hospitality and tourism. Continuing education courses and community interest sessions are also offered as well as specific industry training workshops.

The Culinary Arts program leads to an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and provides students with a culinary education that has depth and breadth as well as crucial work experience. The Culinary Arts program is designed to expose students to a broad range of career options to which they can add depth and specificity through their work experience during and after completing the curriculum.
**This includes two years of tuition based on being a Kansas Resident and taking 60 credit hours, estimated fees, and estimated books. Housing and meal plans not included. Fees may vary depending on specific degree path.
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Culinary Arts degree is designed to train students for entry-level positions in diverse food service operations. The program focuses on the preparation of casual and upscale cuisine for full-service, buffet, banquet, a la carte, and bakery operations. Students are exposed to all areas of professional food service including culinary techniques, safety, and sanitation, food service management, professionalism and ethics, teamwork and communication. Students will apply their knowledge and skills in a practical dining environment. Certificates of Completion (CCL) in Culinary Arts I (5155) and Culinary Arts II (5363) are fully embedded in this AAS. Additionally, graduates may pursue university transfer.
In the Culinary Arts program at Cincinnati State, students receive training in all aspects of food preparation, including methods of cookery, sauces, soups, butchery, garde manger, pastry, and confectioneries, in addition to culinary management.
Students who wish to transfer credit to Cincinnati State for culinary coursework completed at another institution must meet with the Program Chair. Course transfer credit may be limited, based on program accreditation and student success in the previous culinary coursework.

The TMCC Culinary Arts curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of the multi-faceted industry we serve. Individual courses will provide you with the skill sets necessary to work in and operate culinary facilities. You will gain the business, people, and culinary skills you need along with the general education required for you to achieve success in a wide range of different food operations.
If you choose the culinary entrepreneurship certificate and/or degree program you will also learn necessary business skills to open your own business and/or work in a management capacity at a food-related small business. You will develop a business plan and understand the fundamentals of being an entrepreneur. Courses that help you with these business skills include Marketing for Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Development, Financing Your Small Business Venture among others that will give you the tools you need to make your business a great success.
Since the fall of 2017, there isn't a day that passes I don't rejoice the decision to begin my journey into the culinary arts at TMCC. This program is challenging but supportive, adventurous but disciplined, free but structured; camaraderie is naturally formed with classmates and before you know it, a whole new family has manifested around you. The instructors care more about success than failure and utilize every morsel of their expertise to ensure every student is on the path to reach their goals.
